Jamie Turner / Graham Raeburn winners of the 2001 East Anglian Classic Rally
My Background
I’m steeped in motorsport and predominantly rallying history, my father Nigel Raeburn was a multiple MN Road Rally winning navigator and won the 1970 RAC British Rally Championship. My competition history is mainly as a navigator, I’ve done nearly 200 rallies, historic, road, endurance and stage – highlights include winning the 2004 ANWCC Road Rally Championship with Owen Turner and a total of 20 overall wins. My most recent event was 23rd October 2022 – Dansport Historic Rally where I finished 7th overall with Steve Head. I have participated in many HRCR regularity rallies as well as Rally of the Tests and occasional overseas events. I have also done plenty of marshaling and organising including Clerk of the Course on the Plains Rally from 2007 to 2014 and Knutsford Targa Rally since 2017 – winning numerous Rally of the Year awards during this time.
Professionally I have spent the last 15 years working for Shell where I conducted and participated in many webinars. One focus area for me was sales performance coaching and providing insights into pricing and price optimization.
I have taught rally navigation at HRCR training days and in my role as CLO on Tour of Cheshire and Three Castles I have run training sessions and offered encouragement and support to rally newcomers.
In January 2023 I acquired a Level 2 Coaching in Motorsport qualification via Motorsport UK. The learnings from this training has been applied to further develop and professionalise my training.
Across both motorsport and work, I’ve always got satisfaction from helping and supporting others and doing my best to ensure they are enjoying themselves along the way. Through Rally Navigation Training Services I’m bringing the opportunities to learn and gain insights to encourage enjoyment and success as a rally navigator.
